I believe starting something takes a lot of courage. I remember when I started taking pictures and thinking about starting my own business. I had so many ideas and so many insecurities. I remember shooting my first wedding, this was in high school, about 10 years ago. I couldn’t sleep the night before the wedding, I kept thinking about all my equipment, researching different poses, and doubting myself. I didn’t know anything about starting a business, I was 17. All I had was a camera and a heart passionate to capture the most beautiful day of a couple. Now, I don’t know about you, but I felt a lot of pressure to make sure I did everything perfect. And let me tell you, there was nothing perfect about my sessions. But everything served me as a learning lesson.
As time went on I knew what I had to work on, what worked, and how to value my time. One thing that worked for me was getting advice from other photographers and learning from the mistakes they have made. I learned by trying, and trying again, and failing, and trying again. I believe what helped me was the fact that I kept trying.
The truth is, there is no easy way to start something when everything is new. But having a willing heart is more rewording than perfection, because perfection is just an illusion of what you make it to be perfect, and experience is the path into your perfection. Having a constant willing heart will help you keep going when it gets tough.
So I encourage you to keep trying in what ever area in life you are striving.
